A blast from the past….
The Hudson Motor Company was founded in 1909 and eventually joined forces with Ford. It was not until WWII when the Hudson really became a known brand. Like many other American companies it became part of “the Arsenal of Democracy” by building aircraft parts and humongous engines for the war.
In 1951 the company decided to introduce the now favorite, Hudson Hornet. What was so great about this classic? Well, let us tell you.. It was the 262 cubic inch displacement in-line six-cylinder engine that was bored out to 308 cubic inches. You can see why this became an American classic.
Because of its powerful engine and low center of gravity it became a favorite at the NASCAR Grand National races in the 50’s and it’s why we decided to create this artwork. Its backdrop is appropriate based on its history. A classic American barn converted into repair shop with moonshine, a riffle, and a basset hound named “Flash”. True “Country Spirits”…. |
